DUI. U.S. drivers continue to drink and drive and receive DUI arrests in spite of stricter laws and the efforts of the police and activist groups like MADD.

I live in Florida. I got a DUI last spring (April). My attorney is trying to get me out of it, and personally I think, why should he? I was driving under the influence.
This whole thing still hasn’t blown over. What should I do, give me some advice.
I never drink and drive, it was just that one time and of course I got caught.

Well, you have already paid him all the money right? Or does he keep charging more as you go? Seems like it should be over with by now so maybe that is a good sign tho. If its your first one you dont have too much to worry about anyways. You shouldnt be doing any jail time. Just fines, classes, counseling, loss of license and maybe having to get special insurance to get it back. At least you learned your lesson.

My idiot sons father got his THIRD DUI in FL right before Christmas and might be getting off probation already this week. He got a lawyer and got lucky with NO jail time and basically the same punishement as a first timer. He better have learned his lesson. I already moved to NC with our son and he is planning on moving here as soon as he finds out if he is off probation early or not. He wont be living with me tho (not that you care, lol). I found him an apt half a mile from here conveniently located near a bus stop cause I am NOT driving his butt around.

Michelle’s life hit a major road block when she received three DUIs within a two-month period of time.  In all honesty, nothing had really changed all that much regarding Michelle’s drinking circumstances with one exception: she finally got caught for driving while “under the influence.”

Stated another way, Michelle had avoided most of the adverse effects of alcohol abuse for years until her recent DUI arrests.  Due to the fact that Michelle was the kind of person who looked for the lesson to be learned in difficulties and problems, however, she viewed the three DUIs as a wake-up call.

She now understood that she had been an accident waiting to happen because of her drinking and would have to do something positive to change her present situation.  So she went to the local alcohol treatment facility and got admitted in the outpatient alcohol rehab program.

Fortunately, Michelle was an individual who uses common sense to solve her problems because her decision helped her experience some positive insights about her life and where her life was headed.
